Disaster Risk Reduction Educational Materials

Disaster risk reduction (DRR) is a systematic approach to identifying, assessing and reducing the risks of disaster. It  is  very important to teach children how to prepare for natural disasters, but we want to do so without scaring them. Following are some of the educational materials about natural disaster preparedness designed for Yuwalaya Nepal with support of UNICEF Nepal, 2014

Go Bag –Memory cards
This is a set of cards for memory game. All the cards are laid face down on a surface and two cards are flipped face up over turn. The objective of the game is to turn over pairs of matching cards. This will help children memorize the essentials we need for our survival during natural disaster

Butterfly puzzle
This is a set of puzzle that contains disaster preparedness for Earthquake, Flood, Fire and Landslide. It is a simple way to engage children to play and learn about disaster and preparedness in context of Nepal.
